Lebanon (construction)
Written by Michael Kane
Project Overview
In partnership with: Lebanese Evangelical Society
Background
In 2001 and 2008 we sent teams to the Home of Hope in Kehaleh, a suburb of Beirut. The home was established by The Lebanese Evangelical Society after a call by the government for help. All the resident children were taken to the centre by the police, their only crime being that they have been abandoned or put to work on the streets by parents or relatives. John Eter, who heads up this work, is a 59-year-old who describes himself as a “little out of shape”. He is Lebanese and his love for Jesus, his family and these disadvantaged children are his life.
