LIFT Medical (Colombia)
Written by Michael Kane
Project Overview
In partnership with: Children's Vision International
Background
On any given night, in the streets of Bogotá, Colombia, there are approximately 13,000 children without a home and most have no one to care for them. Some call them the generation of invisible children. They have never been legally registered and have neither name nor nationality. To some, they do not exist. Children's Vision International has heard their cry and answers the need by providing a safe, loving home for such children. With the help of mission teams and generous donations, they are giving new life and hope to the children of Bogotá and beyond. Each year Children's Vision International has a medical outreach, supported by the government, to the villages in the hills around Bogotá. Last year LIFT provided a medical team for this outreach; CVI has requested another team for 2012.
