Senegal

Post Project Review
Way back in March and April 2002, it seams so long ago, LIFT sent two teams to Senegal. These were the early stages of the building of BCS (Bourofaye Christian School).
Now three and a half years latter another LIFT team went to BCS during the last stages of the completion of the school.
Jens dorm parent, maintenance man and project overseer had a nasty accident and the work was behind schedule. The team quickly started to erect the roofs.
Walter who was responsible for health and safety had his hands full trying to convince dedicated sun worshippers Tom, Stephen and Frazer to cover up and to top up the sun tan lotion.
The team completed the roofs working with nuts and bolts of questionable quality, erected extensions to lightning conductors and security lighting.
The real bonus this team experienced, in comparison to the previous two teams, was to see the school in full action. Rather than a building project, it was a fully functioning school with teacher, staff and children living, playing, learning and worshipping together; it is a very special school.
Before the team headed home they where able to erect a frame for a covered area on the flat roof of Ian and Linda's home. The team were very keen to do this as Ian and Linda had opened their home for them.
The team are grateful to Linda who once again spoiled them with her ability to cook good British meals in a small African village.
