Post Project Review
In team meetings volunteers are told that they need to be flexible!
This team found out just what flexible means. Before the team set out to Dwelling Places, we new there would be some changes in their work schedule.
On arriving, the team found out the refurbishment work at Dwelling Places was not going to happen. Dwelling Places had just received funding to rebuild. After much discussion it was decided to demolish and rebuild a home for a lady whose nine children where at the home.
This all had to be completed in nine days! The first day they demolished the house put in founds and a concrete floor the next building started. A house twenty-two feet by sixteen feet was to be built. It would have two bedrooms, a living area and a storeroom. Just to keep the team on their toes, they had to travel across Kampala and into the bush around two hours travel each way, each day.
The wall went up, the roof went on, windows and doors were fitted, beds and other furniture were bought and the team even made curtains to finish of this project.
Being flexible is like having Faith in our Lord and trusting Him, knowing that He alone is in charge He alone has all the plans and He alone does not make mistakes.
This is also what LIFT is about.
