North Africa

We cannot tell you the name of the country, where this LIFT team worked, as we do not want to put at risk God’s servants there.
Still in this day Christians are being persecuted. Local Christians are being disowned by their families and missionaries are having their visa withdrawn and being asked to leave.
Seven men left Belfast and met two twin sisters on their journey to North Africa to complete the team. Unfortunately their journey was not all plain sailing; Vee, one of the team members, fell and broke her wrist. Did she go home?. No, she went on in spite of her injury and was able to contribute much to the team.
When they arrived in North Africa they discovered that sixteen months after an earthquake had hit this country people were still living in tents and badly damaged homes. It also became evident that only the Christian workers where left to help the local people as they tried to rebuild their homes and their shattered lives.
The team worked with the local people to plaster out homes so that the same people who they were working with could return home. They met local people who had turned to God through radio ministry, and others who seen God’s love through Christian workers, short term like the LIFT team and those who had give up much to be there long term. We cannot understand how God used this team but when everyone else had given up on these people, God’s love came shinning through this team.
