Post Project Review

Cornerstone College was started in 1989 to be the WEC Missionary Training College for Europe. The college has a 3 years training program. They have about 40 students from many different countries, and from almost every continent. Most of the students will go out to work as missionaries with WEC, or, another mission organization.

Cornerstone was undertaking one rather large project. This was to bring it up to date according to the fire regulations as stipulated by the Dutch authorities. That means putting in cables for smoke detectors in every room, a central alarm system, emergency lights in all hallways and at exit doors (in and outside). Further more they need to replace the old soft board ceilings (which are a fire hazard)

LIFT’s project was to install new ceilings in fourteen rooms; these where to be dry-lined ( joints between plaster boards and all screw holes plastered and sanded ready for painting.) Other plastering was to be carried out around the buildings.

After the ceiling had been dry-lined, pots of paint, paint brushes and wallpaper arrived.  We had get the rooms ready for the new intake of students in September. A few days later carpet arrived to finish the rooms off and finally the team put a new ceiling into part of the dining room, including insulation.

Another project finished, the students and future missionaries knew they were being taught in a safe environment.
