Kenya (KSM)
Written by Michael Kane
Project Overview
In partnership with: KSM (Kenya Sunbeam Ministries)
Background
Kenya Sunbeam Ministries opened a children's home in August 08. Their vision is that this
home will accommodate children orphaned by AIDS or who are HIV positive themselves or
have a disability that does not allow them to live in community. They also plan to build a
hospice nearby so that when terminally ill the children can receive proper palliative care.
KSM has a Land Rover that will become a mobile clinic taking medical treatment, vaccines
etc to hill people who live in a very remote area.
In the small village of Kocholia in the Teso district of Western Kenya they hope to have a resource centre where people can come to chat or receive counselling and education in health and hygiene and family planning. They would also use this opportunity to witness about Christ and do evangelistic work. LIFT served here in 2008 and have been asked for another team.
