About The Mission
Vision International Ministries is a small local Christian charity based in Newtownards, Northern Ireland with a BIG vision to carry out God's work in Malawi.
They have been busy over the past three decades building Churches, Hospitals, Schools and Orphanages. They employ many local people to run these projects but at the centre of everything they do is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission is headed up by Victor Garrett who for many years ran a furniture business in Newtownards and used the profits to fund the mission in Malawi. Our first LIFT team to VIM in Malawi served last year in the construction of a large kitchen, and dormitory building, working alongside local builders. The team last year went out in November but it was very hot and we decided to bring this team forward to a cooler time of the year.
For those of you who have been in the LIFT office the large wooded carvings of the giraffe and man were purchased from Victor many years ago.
About The Work
VIM have big construction plans for the future, with many building projects at the planning stage. One of these is the construction of a two storey accommodation building including kitchen, toilet and shower facilities. It is hoped that the building will be up and roofed before the LIFT team arrive and we will be able to work on the installation of the utility services.
